TEATRU MANOEL YOUTH THEATRE DOUBLE BILL
Four talented members of the Teatru Manoel Youth Theatre will be presenting a double bill of extended excerpts from Duncan Macmillan’s Lungs and Enda Walsh’s Disco Pigs on the 1st May.
Becky Camilleri and Gianni Selvaggi execute scenes from Lungs by Duncan Macmillan. The play has been described by The Guardian as “a distinctive, off-kilter love story which is brutally honest, funny, edgy and current.” It is a smart and funny drama that follows a couple through the surprising life cycle of their relationship, as they grapple with questions of family and change, hope, betrayal, happenstance, and the terrible pain that you can only cause the people you love.
Anton Saliba and Tina Rizzo interpret extracts from Disco Pigs by Enda Walsh. The (UK) Independent said, “The exquisite, knuckle-gnawing agony of teenagehood is inhabited in Enda Walsh’s brilliant early play which is a raw exploration of two young minds and bodies, plagued by their own inexperience, who relish destruction.”
TMYT forms part of Teatru Manoel’s educational programme, Toi Toi, and falls under the tutelage of theatre practitioner Denise Mulholland. The TMYT troupe combine their own devised work while exploring various theatrical techniques.
There will be two performances at 3pm and at 8pm at Teatru Manoel’s Studio Theatre at 81, Old Mint Street.
Seating capacity is limited, so booking through the Manoel Theatre website is advisable. Alternatively, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 2124 6389.
