Poeżija mill-Ħamrija – Ejja u Aqra
Since the 1850s, Leeuwarden, Netherlands and Malta have shared agricultural ties, exchanging potato crops and seeds twice yearly. Once the seeds come from Leeuwarden, Maltese farmers sow them and grow potatoes, which are then shipped back to Leeuwarden. The Poetry in Potato Bags project, (founded by Froukje De Jong), makes use of this cycle by exchanging poetry along with the agricultural produce, whilst celebrating the shared European Capital of Culture title in 2018.
Venue: Pastoral Centre, Qrendi (Map below)
The entrance and participation to this event are free of charge.
Refreshments will be served following the reading.
This event is being organised by the Valletta 2018 Foundation and Inizjamed with the support of the Qrendi Local Council.
