Caught in The Net, Ray Cooney’s sequel to Run For Your Wife, has been adapted for the Maltese stage by Joe Brincat, and will be staged at Teatru Manoel by Talenti Theatrical Co., in partnership with Teatru Manoel on the 27th, 28th and 29th November at 8pm.
The story concerns Joe Borg, a taxi driver. For the last 18 years, he’s been married to Mary and has a secret lover. One lives in Madliena and the other lives in Għargħur. He is however, in danger of being found out when his teenage son begot by his secret lover communicates with his teenage daughter over the internet. They fall in love, and they discover that their father has the same name and the same job. They decide that they have to meet and their dad finds out. Chaos ensues in his attempts to keep them apart. He enlists the aid of his pal, the not-so-bright Paul Vella, who brings along his decrepit father to the rescue. The result is confusion, lying and all sorts of craziness.
