International Classical concert in aid of The Inspire Foundation

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra & The Inspire Foundation present a unique evening of classical music, featuring one of the greatest Italian oboists, conductor Diego Dini Ciacci.

Diego Dini Ciacci is currently considered to be one of the most brilliant musicians on the circuit. He will take centre stage, both as soloist and conductor in this enticing programme, led by The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s Marcelline Agius and featuring works by Donizetti, Rossini, Bellini and Mendelssohn.

Apart from two exciting works featuring the oboe, the evening starts off with a rare Donizetti sinfonia which Diego Dini Ciacci has recorded with the Orchestra of the San Carlo Opera Theatre in Naples (Sony International). The programme also includes Felix Mendelssohn’s enigmatic ‘Scottish’ Symphony, which was dedicated to H.M. Queen Victoria of Great Britain and Ireland.

Classical music lovers are in for a treat with this concert. Also, the entrance fee is a nominal €10 and €5 for concessions. All funds from ticket sales will be going towards The Inspire Foundation and further donations can be made at the door.

The Inspire Foundation is delighted to be working in partnership with The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. “We believe that music is such a universal language, that it represents inclusion in the best way possible. Music has no boundaries, it speaks to the heart and mind and makes no distinction,” said Mr. Antonello Gauci, Inspire’s CEO.

“Over the years, The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, has organised various events for charitable causes. This time we chose Inspire because it too works towards a cause that we truly believe in. Everybody has a right to equality and inclusion and Inspire works relentlessly to make this happen for people with disabilities. It is a pleasure and an honour to be able to contribute to this cause in any way,” said Mr. Sigmund Mifsud, CEO and Chairperson of The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert will be held on 31st January, 2015, at Sir Temi Zammit Hall at The University of Malta.

About Inspire

The Inspire Foundation is the result of a merger between Eden Foundation and Razzett Tal-Hbiberija – two leading charities that worked in the field of disability. The two organisations transferred all their resources and employees over to the new foundation, which now provides all the services in a one-stop-shop model avoiding duplication, enhancing service delivery and being more cost effective, leading to long term sustainability and added value.

Today, Inspire helps over 1000 individuals with various disabilities, ranging from Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and others. Inspire does this through many services and disability programmes that are offered at a highly subsidised rate or sometimes even for free.
