CHRISTMAS WITH WAYNE MARSHALL & THE NEW CHORAL SINGERS
Wayne Marshall and the New Choral Singers present Musical Tidings at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral and at the Floriana Parish Church.
The choir will be performing under the baton of the world acclaimed BBC Proms virtuoso organist and conductor Wayne Marshall, who’s currently Chief Conductor of WDR Funkhausorchester Cologne, and Organist and Associate Artist of the Bridgewater Hall. He’ll also be accompanying the choir on the organ.
The first performance will be held on the 13th December at 7.30pm at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral in Valletta, whilst the second will be on the 16th December at 7.30pm at the Floriana Parish Church.
Under the musical guidance of Shirley Helleur, the choir has prepared a varied repertoire of ever-green Christmas carols that are bound to appeal to audiences of all ages. The programme includes traditional classics such as Ding! Dong! Merrily on High and Ninu, Ninu tal-Milied, as well as select pieces from contemporary composers that will undoubtedly brighten spirits and aptly introduce the festive season with a measure of good cheer for all in attendance. In the spirit of Christmas, the audience will be invited to join the choir in song for a couple of traditional favourites.
The choir will be holding this concert in collaboration with the Lions Club Sliema. Whilst entrance to the concert is free of charge, a retiring collection will be made in aid of the Malta Guide Dogs Foundation, the Helen Keller Foundation Malta and the Ursuline Creche.
