Art and creativity at St. Patrick’s Salesian School
Art: The Creation of Beautiful Things is the theme for an art festival, which St. Patrick’s Salesian School will be organizing on Friday 14th March 2014 between 9.30am and 1.00pm as part of their festivities on the occasion of the feast of St. Patrick.
A number of artists will gather under one roof in order to expose the students to the many facets that Art can take. The students will not be merely spectators however. Many artists will offer workshops in which students and visitors alike can join. This will make the whole event an interactive experience. The juxtaposition of the stalls where the artists will work will emphasize the infinite diversity that Art can take. So the potter will work next to the Manga artist. The one working with oil on canvas can pause for a while and watch an Aikido demonstration. Glass, pottery, costume jewellery, crib building, cartoon draughtsmanship and others will work to background music, because, as Nietzsche said, ‘Without music, life would be a mistake.’ The event will come to an end with the invigorating stamping of Flamenco.
The general public is invited to visit St. Patrick’s Salesian School on Friday 14th March between 9.30am and 1.00pm.
