ACHTUNG! ACHTUNG! EUROPA…
ACHTUNG! ACHTUNG! EUROPA… is a theatre play based on the writings of Heiner Müller adapted for the stage by Nenad Aleksovski.
It will be performed at Spazju Kreattiv St James Cavalier Theatre between the 14th and 16th January, featuring actors Marko Trajkovic, Aldo Zammit, Leslie Torwie, Vladislav Ilic, Sasa ‘Chile’ Jovanovic and Nenad Aleksovski.
The story follows four individuals disappointed with the system – a rejected actor, a raped girl, a censored writer and a frustrated intellectual, all with the same intention of ending their existing pain by becoming machines. It will feature a group of actors from diverse backgrounds, including a guest actor from Macedonia and students from the School of Performing Arts, University of Malta.
Banda Teatarska is an international production team founded in 2014 by Nenad Aleksovski, including Sasa “Chile” Jovanovic, Julien Vinet and Angie Aleksovski. Nenad is currently reading for a Masters in Theatre Studies at the University of Malta, and has an honours degree in Music from the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He also has a Sound Design certificate from the SAE Institute in Brussels.
He has always had a passion for contemporary theatre and cabaret, which started when he was successfully running his own cabaret in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.
He has directed two productions in Malta so far, namely Pocket Brecht in June 2014, which consisted of a collection of poetry and song by Bertolt Brecht, as well as Unhuman Resources, a play based on the American playwright Eric Coble, which was staged at the MADC One Act Festival in September 2015.
Tickets can be purchased from the St James Cavalier website and are priced at €15.
