Pink Floyd’s founding member Nick Mason and his band Saucerful of Secrets are to perform live for Rock ‘N Malta. Mason, the drummer, is the only Pink Floyd member to have been featured on all of the band’s studio albums, performing on all of their albums as well as all of their live shows. He has co-written some of Pink Floyd’s most popular compositions such as “Echoes” and “Time”. It will be his first live musical outing since Pink Floyd played at the 2005 Live 8 concert in London.

“The Rock ’N Malta series of concerts is now in its third year, hosting a number of concerts with an eclectic mix of artists,” Lou Bondi, Artistic Director of Rock ‘N Malta, comments. “That we managed to get such an artist of stature shows that hard work bears fruit especially when it involves bringing together the public and private sector. A concert of classic Pink Floyd songs from the psychedelic era, played by one of founding members, will definitely draw the crowds and augurs well for the future of the Rock ’N Malta series.”

Very few bands are as culturally iconic as Pink Floyd – with an estimated 250 million records worldwide, Pink Floyd are one of the best selling music artists of all time. This is a unique opportunity to experience Pink Floyd’s celebrated and significant early body of work played live including songs from albums ‘The Piper At The Gates of Dawn’ and ‘A Saucerful Of Secrets’. Nick Mason’s namesake band, Saucerful of Secrets, consists of Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken.

The concert will be taking place on in concert on the 10th of July at St. George’s Square, Valletta. Tickets are available from
