The iconic Grandmaster’s Palace facade in St George’s Square will soon be transformed with a spectacular vertical choreography, electronic music and colourful video projections.

Italian performance company Il Posto will perform their most successful choreographies, assembled under Full Wall: The Best of Vertical Dance. The choreography is an energetic and dynamic site-specific performance inspired by the surrounding architecture.

Vertical dance is understood as a body that moves perpendicularly to the wall by establishing a relationship with the space according to a new perspective. The architecture and landscape play a central role, marking and distinguishing each show. The music is created specifically for each show and customized accordingly for each location, performed live with the combination of saxophone and live electronics.

Il Posto has taken part in important festivals and events on both the national and international scene, from the Singapore Arts Festival to Kuopio Dance festival in Finland, from Gaborone in Botswana to the Carnival of Venice.

Il Posto will be performing on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd December, three times per day, starting at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. The shows are also part of the Valletta 2018 Cultural Programme.
