The Klown Doctors are skilled entertainers who help persons with various ailments to boost their mood and enjoy a good laugh, which is known to improve their condition. Klown doctors normally don’t perform on stage, but they recently made an exception  to celebrate their annual Dr Klown Day with their CONCERTO BUFFO, created especially for the residents of Dar tal Providenza.

In the past, Klown Doctors, the NGO that is also sponsored by the Miss Malta charity campaign, organised the Dr Klown Parade on St Julian’s and Sliema’s promenade with over 700 kids participating. This time they decided to use their skills to bring a ray of sunshine to the residents of Dar tal Providenza, a home for persons with disabilities in Siġġiewi.

On 24 November, the Klown Doctors brought an original colourful show that combined of dance, comic acts, musical performances and loads of clown improvisation. All volunteers of Dr Klown participated in the fun and sang popular Maltese folk songs with the residents, accompanied by Tikka Banda for the second part of the show. There was wheelchair waltzing, balloon figures and Klowns being their silly selves, turning the afternoon into an unforgettable experience for all involved. Dar tal Providenza widely uses music and entertainment to improve the lives of its residents. This year it opened a special music room for their creative expression and music therapy.
