Sabrina Villari was crowned European Champion in the Women’s Wellness Fitness up to 158 cm class and received a silver medal in Women’s Overall Fitness at the IFBB European Championships 2018. Meanwhile, Carlos Caruana is bringing home a silver medal in Master Men’s Bodybuilding 40-44 years, up to 80 kg. The contest, recently held in Santa Susanna, Spain, is organised by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), the governing body of the sport of bodybuilding and fitness.

At this four day event, over 1,100 participants showcasing the best physiques in the European continent and representing over 40 countries, battled for a podium place in what is considered to be one of the most prestigious international bodybuilding and fitness competition in the world. The Malta Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (MFBBF) is proud of the results achieved.

Over 90 international judges were tasked with assessing this magnificent showcase of beauty and perfect physiques, in the various sport’s categories. Villari stood out with her combination of beauty and a flawless physique sculpted to the exact requirements of her category – perfect bodylines and proportions, a healthy and attractive appearance, and an athletic and aesthetically pleasing physique. With this victory she was awarded professional status and will compete now in the official IFBB professional competition, known as the IFBB PRO Elite.

Malta’s own 2018 National Overall Champion Carlos Caruana displayed a remarkable proportional build physique with balanced and harmonious muscle size, as well as extraordinary muscle quality and detail.

Rodrick Theuma, another Maltese contestant, achieved a sixth place in the Seniors Bodybuilding up to 80 kg category, and Sabrina Micallef landed a 9th place in the Masters Bodyfitness category.

The next national fitness competition is “The Battle 2018”, which will take place on the 25th August at the Corinthia San Gorg, St Julians.
