As groups can already seen practising for the Carnival in Valletta, it’s time to prepare to impress the crowds with creative costumes. The National Competition for carnival costumes will be held on Tuesday 13th February 2018 at 11.00am in Royal Theatre Square, Valletta. This competition is intended for children, adolescents, and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 16, and will be divided into two categories according to age.

Those who wish to participate can obtain a participation form from Festivals Malta, Arts Council Malta, 16, M.A. Vassalli Street, Valletta, during office hours. Applicants are expected to take part in the children’s Carnival on Saturday 10th February, when the exhibition of costumes will take place.

Afterwards, the final will be held in Royal Theatre Square on Tuesday 13th February, when the jury will choose the best entry in the respective category.
