Clutching their instruments or revising melodies in their mind, 50 young talents filled the recently renovated music room at the Malta Society of Arts. With their diplomas printed, their families and lovers of music overflowing from the main music room to the adjacent space, the graduates had nothing to worry about – except perhaps showing their best.
On the 20 December 2017, the Malta Society of Arts held a Graduation Ceremony for the 50 music students who obtained their Diplomas with the London College of Music (LCM) Examinations in the Practical and Theory sections. Selected students had the opportunity to play their chosen pieces – from Rachmaninoff to Pirates of the Caribbean – on the new Steinway piano to a delighted audience, which was followed by the handing out of the Diploma certificates by MSA President Arch. Adrian Mamo.
The Examiners from London repeatedly remark that the level of local students is very high, and the Malta Society of Arts is proud to be the LCM’s representative on our islands. The London College of Music is an international examinations board offering graded and diploma qualifications in music, drama and communication. Examinations of music and theory of music in both Grades and Diplomas are held across a large network of exam centres worldwide, including Malta, where the MSA has been the representative of the College for the past 80 years.
Let’s hope we will hear about the graduates’ career very soon!
