To support free of charge Palliative Care Service, Hospice Malta is continuing its annual Poinsettia initiative. The flowers will be available from Hospice premises on Monday 4th December.

Throughout the year, over 1,000 patients and their families use the Hospice’s services, developed with a view to offer maximum quality of life and dignity to people with severe illnesses. Providing on-call, psychological and bereavement support, the Hospice is run as a voluntary organisation.

Founded in 1989, the organisation promotes and provides Palliative Care in a holistic manner for persons approaching the end of their life with cancer, motor neuron disease, cardiac, respiratory and renal diseases. In 2016, 1,017 patients, together with their families, received Hospice services. Presently Hospice receives an average of 60 new referrals each month. Visits by the professional team to patients and families amount to over 7,000 per year.

The flowers will be available against a donation of €4. Deliveries to companies in large quantities are also possible. Delivery for orders exceeding 30 poinsettias is free of charge. Under 30 a charge of €5 applies.
