Directed by Polly March, The Taming of The Shrew will be running until Sunday 23rd July at the beautiful San Anton Gardens in Attard.

If you know anything about The Taming of The Shrew, then you will know that Kate, the shrew, is tamed by Petruchio. The truth is not always what it seems, is it? Is it possible that these two were made for each other? That no one else in the world would do as well?

MADC is staging it in the round, for the first time, so the audience will be close and involved. This production will also introduce the role of The Fool – a musician who guides us through the action, comments on it and leads the characters on a dance through the story.

This was written as ‘a play within a play’. Shakespeare was having a laugh; he was parodying commonly-held themes and having a laugh at them.
