Stop your feet and shoes from smelling like expired boiled cabbage!
It’s summer, which means that when some people take off their shoes, a stench of death will fill the whole room. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that, in the sense that it doesn’t boil down to hygiene. But there are things you can do to lessen – and even eliminate – the blow!
Use Tea: Not to drink it, silly. To dunk your feet in! As a natural antibiotic, tea helps close pores, which means that your feet will sweat less. So, in a bowl, put some tea bags in hot water and let them brew for a while before topping up with cold water. Finally, place your feet in the concoction for 30 minutes – you’ll be surprised by the result!
The Beach: Salt water can cure loads of things, including stinky, smelly feet. Which is why, whenever you have time, go for a dip in the Med! But, if you don’t have time to hit the beach, soaking your feet in warm water and salt for 20 minutes every day for two weeks will make your feet soft and remove odours!
Powderful: Talcum powder and baking soda are simple yet effective ways of making smelly and sweaty feet obey again – without much commitment or time. Just dust some directly into your shoes or on your feet, and you’re ready to go!
Breathing: Our skin needs to breathe and certain materials don’t allow it to do so. That’s why, if you have sweaty or stinky feet, you should always opt for shoes that let your feet breathe. That could be anything from flip flops and sandals to good-quality sneakers!
Socks: The mittens for the feet are a great way of ensuring that the moisture is absorbed and that your feet don’t just rub against the harsh material of the shoes. Moreover, socks coupled with talcum powder and breathable shoes are the ultimate defence against sweaty, stinky feet!
