Actor, writer and comedian Chris Dingli is taking his one-man comedy Bad Dad on tour to North America.

To help cover the cost of the tour, Dingli has launched a crowdfunding campaign throughout the month of April. Anyone backing the project can choose from a multitude of rewards in exchange for their support including tickets to see Bad Dad, advance copies of Chris’ upcoming ebook, private comedy shows, friendly prank calls, a delivery of tea and cake, and an invite to a brand new, never-seen-before show written by Chris specially for backers.

Bad Dad is a semi-autobiographical show that chronicles the trials and tribulations of becoming a first time father. It premiered in Malta in November 2015 and has since visited the UK, where it was awarded 5-stars in London.

The North American tour will take in three major cities: Chicago, Toronto and New York. The show will play at major venues including the famous Second City in Chicago, one of the world’s most famous comedy clubs and launching pad of some of show business’ most recognisable names including Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, John Candy, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert,Tina Fey, Eugene Levy, Jane Lynch, Bill Murray, Mike Myers, Joan Rivers, and Martin Short, among many others.

Speaking about the show, Dingli said: “Taking the show to these cities is vital for the future of the show. It has already done well in the UK and taking it to the world’s largest English-speaking market is the next step towards creating Malta’s first self-sustaining touring show. This is a big step not only personally and professionally, but also for Maltese theatre in general. I hope it will help to forge a path for future Maltese productions.”
