Artist Fabrizio Ellul has recently presented What comes after the 1 minute of silence?, an exhibition that deals with terrorism and its consequences on communities.
Curated by Matthew Attard, the exhibition included mixed media work with digital print, video and a large oil on canvas work. This was also teamed with a panel discussion that was held on the 25th January at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta. The exhibition ran from the 7th January to the 5th February.
The artist’s aim was to pose the question of what happens after society is done from mourning and grieving an act of terrorism. He’s also noted that the artist’s role is to question rather than to find solutions, and a diversity of media is required to form those queries, hence the multitude of genres within the exhibitions.
