If you love cooking, then you really need to get your hands on these!

I have to admit that I’m no maverick in the kitchen. I follow recipes down to the minutest of details. But I do love buying kitchen gadgets. Carrot sharpener? Hand it over! Herb scissors? Shut up and take my money!

So I thought I’d share my obsession with the weird and wonderful world of kitchen gadgets with you. Disclaimer: Please don’t send me any bills if you end up buying any of this stuff:

The OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer: Now that the USA could potentially be turning away avocados from Mexico, we can probably expect a surge in the number of avocados that come to Europe, which brings us to this wonderful gadget: the OXO avocado tool! Cut open the avocado with the pointed bit, deseed the fruit, and slice it evenly all with the same tool – how wonderful is that?

The SOMA Glass Carafe: We all know we need to drink loads of water, especially in the heat of the Maltese summer. And that’s exactly where this super-sleek and super-stylish water carafe with built-in filter comes in. It holds up to six glasses of water and will stand out on any dinner table.

The Selfie Toaster: Mornings are hard enough as it is, particularly now that every morning comes with some new piece of news that makes you question humanity. But they could be made brighter with a customised selfie toaster. Yep, you read that right. You can have your face on bread!

The Prepara Herb Savor Pod: Mhux żmien il-ħela, so anything that can make my herbs last longer is a god send, which is where these herb pods come in as they make herbs, spring onions and asparagus last three times as long! Imagine that. No more throwing away parsley three days after getting it from the greengrocer. We really are living in the future!

Peugeot Grinders: The ultimate status symbol in the world of spices comes in the form of a Peugeot Grinder, particularly the pictured one, which is for nutmeg. Beautifully designed with the best of materials, these grinders make the simplest of tasks an absolute luxury. They’re also a tiny reminder of how money can indeed buy beauty… Maybe not happiness, but beauty, yes!

Well, that’s my top pick. What have I missed?
