Andre’ Bajada, or more commonly known as Dre’, is a talented  DJ producer from Malta who’s been crossing the coordinates of Jackin’, Tech and Rolling House with his signature groovy French House bass lines. A spinner since the age of sixteen, his inspirations include the US and Garage House genres.

His face is frequently seen on local flyers, and he is renowned for his seamless mixing and skills behind the decks. Dre’ burst into the limelight in 2007 at the age of eighteen, when he started his own series of Definitive Underground events, reserved solely for just a couple of friends in several remote locations around Malta. The same series of events are still being held for a much larger crowd, and are by now considered to be one the most requested nights on the island, most of the time selling out in advance.

2012 saw Dre’ up his game even further after a short trip to Barcelona for the annual Off Sonar events, which led to the beginning of his infamous DRE’ EXCLUSIVE events. His success in the studio produced various tracks in 2015, including Here To Get Ya on Mellophonik records hitting #16 in the Tech House Top 100 charts, and Lapsus making it to #85 on Traxsource Top 100. He’s also just released music on Dazed & Confused with support from the likes of Ritchie Hawtin, Paco Osuna and Riva Starr. He’s also performed for the label’s club nights in Berlin.

How would you describe your music style?

Groovy beats and heavy bass-lines.

What makes you stand out from your contemporaries and predecessors?

I think it’s just the pure passion that I have for music, and maybe the way I shift from one track to another.

What makes you feel alive?

My daughter surely does that for me.

Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?

Hopefully still producing and playing music, perhaps to bigger audiences around the world.

What are your thoughts on Pokemon Go?

I’ve tried it out! We ended up following my iPhone three kilometres away from my studio in the middle of the night.
