Infinitely Xara’s fine dining restaurant de Mondion has been home to several gastronomic adventures, and has this time embarked upon the flavours of the Orient, as experienced on the 22nd August by members of the press.
The collaboration between Chef Kevin Bonello and Chef Kazunori Otowa was a match made in heaven. The combined skill and passion for fine dining was the result of a masterpiece of classic French haute cuisine through the use of local produce, but with an Asian twist.
The menu for the evening was deeply innovative. A choice of delectable ingredients all harmoniously balanced, with beautiful minimalist presentation, highlighting the quality ingredients.
A nori fusion of duck and rabbit commenced the palatable journey, which was followed by the delicate textures of seabass and lobster with a Japanese consommé,
and then concluded by enticingly refreshing desserts featuring stone fruit, hazelnut and green tea.
The stunning views of the island from the de Mondion terrace, at The Xara Palace was the perfect backdrop for the al fresco occasion.
Cuisine and hospitality are two binding factors that provide for great relationships as well as memories, which is all part of Relais & Chateaux‘s mantra of the l’art de vivre.
