We often find ourselves believing that the smallest things in life, such as rain, are more problematic than they really are. A million raindrops could ruin our hairstyles, woollen coats, make up and sometimes even our mood or plans. However, do we ever question how happy we are to encounter such a small daily obstacle? This is where you’d probably monotonically ask if there’s anything pleasing about getting yourself wet under that dark grey sky that almost wrinkles your forehead on a cold winter afternoon. Think about it; it’s not as bad as it seems. The element of pleasure about this daily hassle lies in the fact that once you compare it with a sickness that pushes individuals to the edge of their lives, you suddenly realise that rain is a gilded shower.

The short film Light Rain was donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, and is based on a true story and around the idea of the appreciation of life. We hope it inspires you as much as it inspired us.
