After a period of refurbishment, Malta’s idyllic Madliena Lodge has recently launched a delicious seasonal menu to be savoured within its lush grounds.

Set in the countryside with unobstructed views of the sea and easy private parking, it combines the beautiful blues and greens of the Mediterranean with a dynamic new menu that has been crafted to make the most of the freshest flavours and best seasonal produce. It’s been purposely designed to suit the needs of its esteemed clientele, whether it’s for a casual evening at the lounge bar or an indulgent soirée of gastronomy.

“Refurbishing Madliena Lodge was our first priority, so as to make it a space that our clients can really enjoy,” explains Duncan Barbaro Sant, one of the directors. “The restaurant is now split into various areas, including the courtyard and terrace dining spaces, which serve top-quality dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.

The team has worked hard on the new summer menu, which excellently reflects their dedication to innovative cuisine and top-quality ingredients. Highlights include their Parmesan panna cotta, avocado king prawn salad with gazpacho, and drunken mussels casseruola. Notable dishes are also the scorzone truffle risotto, grilled red Maltese tuna and the tagliata of rib-eye. Dessert is also a delight, with favourites including their trademark Ferrero Rocher Mousse and Aperol Spritz Sorbet.

For those who wish to have a sample of everything, a seasonal degustation menu has also been created, where the kitchen brigade can showcase their signature dishes and techniques.

The Lounge menu also has an array of inviting suppers such as panko-fried Camembert bites, Madliena’s slow-cooked single ribs and the gourmet homemade burger. Accompanied by live music every Friday, the Lounge area is the perfect setting for a relaxed meal and also private events.
