Kylie Mizzi considers herself to be an outgoing, honest and sensitive person. Travelling is her passion and she also loves being around people who make her life brighter and beautiful, including her family and close friends.
Kylie started her acting career on stage in 2003. She attended drama courses with Bronk Productions, Take 2 and Imagin-Arts. On local television, it all started in 2012 in the series Prima Facie as Angelique Lautier.
Following that, Kylie had further opportunities to take part in F’Salib it-Toroq, Becky the Return and other programmes such as Kurrenti, Rajt ma Rajtx and Qalb in-Nies. She’s also done some commercials for The Chef and The Wedding Proposal for BOW Malta.
Can you describe your state of mind when acting?
I always work hard to forget about my personal situations and focus only on the character I am interpreting, so I will be able to pass on the right message.
What’s your favourite venue in Malta to perform at?
I’ve performed in a few venues in Malta and I’d love to perform in some different ones. However, I had a small opportunity to be on stage at the Manoel Theatre, and the amazing feeling I felt there cannot be replaced with the other venues for sure.
What’s your normal preparation process before a performance?
When it’s a TV performance, I go through the lines before and when we start I relax, but when it comes to performing on stage, even though I’m always prepared, I get very nervous. I also go through the lines a few minutes before, and everything will be fine as soon as I’m on stage.
What percentage of your life do you spend shopping?
I love shopping way too much. Clothes, shoes, bags, make up and flight tickets are my favourite. Shopping is something that will definitely cheer you up unless you look at your bank account right after! So I think that I spend a high percentage on shopping.
How do you normally relax when it all gets too much?
I relax by spending time out with my boyfriend and my friends for a chat and a coffee, watch movies, read a book or do some online shopping.
Do you usually hoard things or regularly throw stuff out?
I hoard all the shopping bags and stuff I think that would be useful in the near future, but then if I’m in the mood to clean my room, I’ll start throwing everything away.
