When it comes to suede, we normally associate this material with boots worn during autumn rains and cold weather.

The real suede revolution took place a couple of seasons ago. Designers reworked the old-fashioned way of wearing suede, and these days, it’s not just about boots and coats. Dresses, shorts, skirts and even tops are made from the comfy and breathable fabric to wear during the warmer seasons.

Inspired by the 70s, apparel made from suede material in traditional light brown and nude shades are the timeless fashion classics. Today, designers are reinterpreting suede through bold colours and pastel shades. Navy, yellow, blush or green are perfect options for any spring look and are certainly the hottest buys of this season.

However, do keep in mind that suede is a very delicate material and it needs to be treated gently. The main rule is to keep your favourite suede piece away from water and humidity to make it last longer.

A-line Skirt

A high waisted suede skirt looks both cute and sophisticated, especially when finished with a buttoned front. The A-line structure looks perfect with a simple crop top or a ribbed turtle-neck top; you can also pair it with a long-sleeved white blouse for a boho-chic inspired look.

Suede Top

A super soft suede top in a traditional light brown shade is perfect for pairing with blue jeans. This combination of suede and denim is classic, yet always looks innovatively bohemian. If you’re brave enough, rock a two-piece suede set. It’s a very fashion-forward amalgamation. Compliment your suede top with an above-the-knee suede skirt, trousers or culottes.

Suede Bag

From a little grab-and-go saddle sling to a fringed statement pouch or a minimalist black backpack, any bag looks amazing in suede, and adds a gentle hippy vibe to any outfit.

Suede Jacket

We all know that a classic black leather motorbike jacket is a must-have all year round, but it’s not entirely irreplaceable, either. If you’re bored and want to freshen up your spring wardrobe, go for its suede counterpart. It’s a comfy and soft material, perfect for the in-between spring and summer season. Suede trench coats are also very much the IT item on the high street, and is another perfect and easy-to-wear option.

Suede Lace-up Dress

One of the most stylish ways to translate suede into your spring/summer wardrobe is a suede dress with a deep and sexy lace-up V-neck. This dress already has an edgy lace-up update, so absolutely no effort in styling is required. It looks perfect when combined with a pair of classic white sneaks and a messenger bag for a casual everyday look. To upgrade it to a feminine and flirty outfit, pair it with wedges and a minimalist clutch bag.
