Edward Bond‘s work will be returning to Malta with the premiere of his latest play, The Price of One.
It is with great pleasure that Teatru Manoel and Unifaun Theatre Productions announce the co-production of The Price of One at the Manoel Theatre on the 8th, 9th and 10th April at 8pm.
This is the first time that a playwright of Edward Bond’s calibre has been commissioned to write for Malta, however this is also the second time Unifaun will be staging Bond’s work – Olly’s Prison was received with critical acclaim in 2013. Bond’s plays, which are staple classics in contemporary British theatre, are studied at universities worldwide and have been performed throughout Europe and the Americas.
The Price of One is an examination of contemporary society, and puts forward the argument that due to the loss of our human-ness, we no longer live in a society but in a supermarket. It is a play where characters try to find sanity at the edge of madness.
The production will be directed by top British director Chris Cooper and will feature some of Malta’s most exciting talents in Malcolm Galea, Simone Spiteri, Magda van Kuilenburg and Andre Agius. Design will be in the hands of Ceri Townsend.
Bookings can be made through the Manoel Theatre website or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 21 246389.
