The Malta Youth Orchestra is the protagonist in a new project that will take off with a launch concert, MYO Butterfly Project – The Beginnings, comprising of a concoction of music genres, with Maltese music being the core element.
Kris and Daniel of Kafena, Nadine Axisa, Corazon, and Joe Roscoe will present their original songs, while Julie Zahra, Mike Portelli, Remy Azzopardi and Brooke will be interpreting Maltese classics, all arranged and performed by the MYO.
Local musicians will have the opportunity to display their talents by performing in a high-quality musical show. The idea of the butterfly symbolises local artists who go to great lengths to achieve certain results, but are hindered due to certain limitations. Just like most butterflies, they are only able to migrate over short distances.
