Brimming with talent and ambition, Karl Tabone, or better known through the electronic music industry as Husko, has long dreamed of mixing and producing his own unique music. However, this is a dream which has only been recently realised. Yet in his on-going and avid pursuit of improvement and musical inspiration, it is a dream full of promise. Making his debut as a DJ in the summer of 2012 at clubs such as Sabor and The Playground, the name Husko has spread like wildfire. However, the true potential of Husko lies in his skill as a producer, which, though still in its early stages, has seen the creation of many new and interesting tracks that have been published on SoundCloud. They’ve certainly pleased friends, viewers, and clubbers alike.
To this day, Husko has performed at some of Malta’s top events, from “Twisted Mondays” at The Playground every Monday night during the summer period, to Gianpula with the “Sunglasses at Night” crew, to Creamfields alongside international artists such as Alesso, Martin Garrix, Paul Van Dyk and many more!
Husko’s musical success began when he released his very own remix on The Fray’s How To Save A Life, which has reached almost half a million views on Youtube and Soundcloud. He is currently focusing on bettering his production to make himself stand out from the crowd and define his own sound, instead of following current trends.
Is there anything in your life that has yet to be accomplished?
I would love to collaborate on musical projects with some of my idols, such as Steve Angello, Kryder and Dubvision.
Where do you want to take your music?
The sky’s the limit, right? I want to take it as far as I can go, be it local or international. I just want to keep pushing forward.
Aside from music, what other things do you cherish in life?
Not sure that ‘cherish’ is the ideal word for this, but aside from music, my passion lies in gaming. I’m currently studying at Staffordshire University for a degree in Computer Games Design. If I’m not making music, there’s a good chance I’m playing games, or studying them, rather.
What sound or noise do you love?
My heart lies with progressive house. Nothing beats melodic, emotional and euphoric music in my opinion.
Do you prefer dining out or clubbing? And why?
I’d probably have to say clubbing, since it’s kind of what I do, but I won’t say no to a good steak!
