MIREILLE BONELLO is an ACCA student who has studied and worked in the financial industry for the past thirteen years. However, about three years ago, her life changed when she opened her own boutique of exclusive evening gowns, which gives her the opportunity to travel from one continent to another searching for the finest designers for her clients.

She began modelling at a very young age, which opened the door to hosting various events. She started off hosting pageant shows, which then led to numerous television programmes on a number of local TV stations, including PBS, Net TV and One TV. She has also hosted a Saturday-afternoon variety show, and several fashion and music shows. She has also hosted a number of major events on the island, including the Malta Music Awards, Miss World Malta and the Malta Song for Europe.

“The programme which I am currently hosting is Minn Festa għall-Oħra, together with Charles Saliba on Net TV, where we basically go to all the cities and villages around the island and host a live TV programme featuring the village feast,” explained Mireille in this interview with RAMONA PORTELLI.

Tell us about your journey of becoming a presenter.

I used to model at a very young age for a family-run business. My father finally let me join a modelling agency when I was 16, and I have never looked back from that day onwards.

What’s the most expensive item you’ve bought?

I spent a lot of money on a dress by a designer.

What is your favourite thing in your whole house, and why?

My bed, because it’s where I manage to rest!

What are your major causes of stress?

I try not to let anything stress me out, and sometimes the secret is to always plan a fun day for yourself. So, if you happen to be having a bad day, the sun will always shine again soon, because a fun day lays ahead. Usually, it tends to improve my mood, and I hardly feel stressed out.

How would you define your style?

Sexy, but not vulgar. I would say classy and chic.
