25 year old Katrina Pavia from Victoria, Gozo was crowned winner of Miss World Malta by Pallini 2015, held at Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta.

This year was the nineteenth edition of this national contest, which was organised by Modelle International, under the direction of Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja. This is the only contest which entitles a Maltese representative to participate in the Miss World International Beauty Pageant.

The finals of Miss World will be held later on this year in Melbourne, Australia, where Malta will be participating alongside another 140 countries, in front of 2.5 billion TV viewers.
Katrina Pavia had the chance to wear a new crown sponsored by Victor Azzopardi Jewellers, besides winning other vouchers and gifts. She was also awarded the title of ‘Piccinino Model’, sponsored by J.Piccinino Ltd, ‘Miss Personality’ and the prestigious title of ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, which was dedicated to Dr Klown.
The first runner up was Manuela Buttigieg, followed by Marie Claire Portelli. Ms Buttigieg was also awarded ‘Most Popular Model’ on eve.com.mt.
Shannon Muscat was awarded ‘Best Appearance’ by L’Extase, while the ‘Face of Golden Rose’ title went to Daniela Farrugia.
During the event, all 30 contestants showcased exclusive evening wear for judging time. 12 finalists were then chosen to take part in the swimwear show, which was sponsored by J.Piccinino. Finally, the 7 finalists were asked to pass a message in English, until the winner was announced. They were judged by renowned local and foreign personalities, and the show was compared by Owen Bonnici, Clarissa Ellul and Sarah Agius.
The audience also appreciated fashion shows from different houses, including Mangano, Distorted Clothing, Ladymatic, Chanté, collections from J.Piccinino, and Nilara.
A team of hairdressers was responsible for the contestants’ hair – Clip ‘n Trim, MAF Hairdressing, Gary Westacott, Hair Masters, EverGlow, Josmar’s Classic Scissors, Hair & Beauty Tech, and Dash Hairdressing. Natasha Polidano and her team was also responsible for make-up, which was sponsored by Golden Rose.
