SARAH NAUDI is a 23 year old French / Maltese actress who, for the past eight years, has been based mainly in the UK. She moved there at the age of fifteen to train at two musical theatre schools, namely, Tring Park & Arts Educational Schools. She has been performing since she was about three years old and, throughout her life, her focus has always been on singing, dancing and acting.
What is it that you cannot live without?
Nothing beats being on stage or on screen or even in a simple dance class. Something I wouldn’t be able to live without is definitely music.
Can you describe your state of mind while acting?
Generally, when I am acting it’s a sort of escape from reality and you enter a zone of playing a role. It is a bit like being a kid and constantly make believing in situations that are made up for you. Most actors are just people who are still in touch with their inner child and who never want to let go of that.
Do you prefer dining out or clubbing? And why?
I love clubbing because as I mentioned before, I love music, I could be stone cold sober till 6am having an amazing time, if the music and company are great.
What are your weaknesses?
I think my weaknesses are that I am quite hard headed and there are a lot of things I still need to learn about and know about the world.
How would you describe the theatre scene in Malta today?
To me, it’s a joy coming home and working in the Malta theatre scene. I must say though, it becomes more of a hobby than a job because you do not usually get a wage as you would if it were your full time job, as it is in the UK. All the same, the creatives and actors put their heart and soul into the projects here and the talent is immense. It’s so raw and real, I actually learn a lot while working with Maltese artists and it brings me back to my roots.
