Summer is soon underway.

What better way to spend your last stressful days before the end of the exams, than to plan your trip to one of these incredible music festivals, in Europe?

Glastonbury, Pilton, Somerset County, UK, June 25–29

Launched in 1970, it builds on the success of Woodstock.

Held in the 900 acre Vale of Avalon which is transformed into a huge tented city. Thousands of people of all ages, nationalities, faiths and beliefs, take part in this huge merging of people, music and experiences.

There is an overall mellow and friendly atmosphere and an impressive line-up of artists over 100 stages. The list includes but is not limited to, Metallica, Sam Smith, Lily Allen, Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran and Imagine Dragons.


T in the Park, Balado, Kinross-shire, Scotland, July 10–13

A major Scottish music festival that has been held since 1994.

Attracting more than 85,000 and 70,000 campers, it offers a huge variety of genres, from rock, techno, pop and even jazz. This year’s line-up includes; Calvin Harris, Arctic Monkeys, Ellie Goulding, Rudimental and Pharrell Williams.


RockWerchter, Werchter, Belgium, July 3–6

A Belgian annual festival, held since 1974.

It is one of the five largest annual rock festivals, it attracts people from countries all over the world, such as France, Australia, South Africa and UK.

Offering a music genre usually restricted to alternative rock, rock and pop, the line-up this year includes; The 1975, Placebo, Passenger and Kings of Leon.


Boom Festival, Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal, August 4-11

A psychedelic trance music festival that started in 1997 and is held every two years.

It now hosts five stages and a number of activities that include; sculptures, an art gallery, fire performances, group mediation and film screenings.

The Boom Festival’s ethos is sustainability within arts and culture.


V Festival, Essex and Staffordshire, UK, August 16–17

An annual music festival, held at two parks simultaneously; Hylands Park, Chelmsford, in Essex and in Weston Park, Staffordshire.

Artists perform at one location and then swap for the next day. The line-up of this year’s artists includes; Justin Timberlake, The Killers, Example, Train and Jason Derulo.
