The Ecco Sports Festival held recently attracted hundreds of families and individuals who took part in interactive sports events and fun fair activities.

The event took place at the Pembroke Athleta Sports Club and included a 7km walkathon in aid of The Inspire Foundation.

The walk attracted hundreds of walkers, and raised €1,400 which will go towards helping more children and adults with various disabilities, and to support their families.

The Inspire Foundation advocates for inclusion, educates the general public, and raises awareness among peers in order to make sure that people with disabilities reach their full potential and are fully integrated in society and the community.

“At ECCO, we feel very proud to have been part of this great event and that we helped raise money for such a good cause. We will continue to support The Inspire Foundation and help raise awareness about all the great services they offer,” said Mrs. Nicki Mallia from Ecco.

Nathan Farrugia, Inspire’s CEO said: “The festival was a great way in which people used their energy, not only to have fun but also to do good. We help children with Autism, Down’s Syndrome and others with various learning and physical difficulties. We offer our services either for free or at a highly subsidised rate, which is only made possible thanks to fund raising events, such as this. On behalf of every client and family we help at Inspire, I thank all the participants, as well as the organisers for making the day a huge success. This wonderful donation will help Inspire fund vital disability services so that we can work to ensure that more and more families get the help they need.”
