What better way to celebrate this pretty season than with a splash of colour on your nails?
Spring 2014 brings along with it a vast selection of pretty pastels in gorgeous, feminine hues boasting beautiful, new colours rather than the normal pinks and lilacs we are accustomed to. A pastel variety of the ever so popular mint shade is seemingly going to be a big hit this spring, as is the gorgeous pastel yellow.
But of course, if you aren’t too keen on pastel shades, Slate Grey is going to be a big hit this season. Bright Orange is another shade which is going to be ever so popular and glittery polishes are fashionable again, this time in different formulations.
The glitters vary from tiny specks for a subtle glittery look, to bolder, random chunks which look gorgeous layered on your favourite shade. Different shapes of glitters within the same bottle, spice up your manicure, and give that unique design depending on the way it is applied.
The New York Fashion week proposals for Spring 2014 included different kinds of Nails Art for the season.
The half moon manicure (also known as the Reverse French Manicure) seems to be grabbing on pretty well on our islands, where you have a nude shade all over the nail, and a semicircular design right at the top of your nail, where it emerges from beneath the cuticle. This imitates the shape of the matrix, and can be revved up with bold colours for a fun manicure.
New designs for French manis, Ombre nails, textured polishes and stripes filled the catwalks, making a statement – Nail Art is back this season, this time with a polished and chic kind of look.
And for those who prefer the natural approach, Spring 2014 also sees the emergence of sheer polishes in pretty nudes and peach hues, which were also plentiful on the catwalks. These kind of shades and formulations make your hands and nails look polished, well groomed and refined, and are always a safe bet when you are unsure of what shade to wear for a particular occasion.
In a nutshell, the nail polish and manicure propositions for Spring caters for every individual. Whether you are bold and daring, or prefer natural looks, you will definitely be on the right track this season! And remember, keep nail art designs sharp and defined!
