During a visit at Inspire’s Education & Training Centre, Mrs. Michelle Muscat launched a fundraising activity in aid of Inspire, which will take place on World Disability Day on 3rd December.
During her visit at Inspire, Mrs. Muscat was given an overview of the various services offered by Inspire and spent some time with some of Inspire’s adult clients. Inspire offers services to more than 1000 clients – children and adults with disabilities who receive training and support to reach their full potential in life.
Mrs. Muscat praised the work done by Inspire and said that it is this Government’s declared commitment to help people with disabilities by all means possible.
With this aim, Mrs. Muscat announced the launch of an Afternoon Tea Fundraiser to be held at Auberge De Castille, to commemorate World Disability Day on the 3rd December.
“By celebrating this day with us you will be helping Inspire promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well being of persons with disabilities. You would also be helping to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life,” explained Inspire’s CEO Nathan Farrugia.
“The world celebrates many special days throughout the year, but this is a special one that we should not let go by unnoticed,” said Mrs. Muscat. “It is our duty as a just society to do everything in our power to facilitate the inclusion of people with disabilities in society, be it education, employment and society at large.”
Inspire requires almost €3 million a year to keep running and offering its services to so many clients, most of which are free or heavily subsidized. We depend on voluntary giving, volunteering and social enterprise to continue to provide support to those in need, in order to make a difference in the lives of the people we help.Event details : Afternoon Tea Date – 3rd December, 2013 Venue – The Auberge De Castille Time – 16:30 – 18:30 (Prior to the event an optional tour of The Auberge will commence at 15:30) For more information about the event or to book your seat please contact Inspire on 21890000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
