Interview with Clayton J Zammit

Where do you live:- Birkirkara

Status:- In a relationship

Star Sign:- Sagittarius (although I consider horoscopes as crap!)

Main occupation:- Running my own boutique software house

Media-related occupation:- Radio DJ, TV Host and mainstream DJ. Currently I’m having a break from radio and television. I really need a few weeks to regenerate, come up with new ideas and concepts! I believe it is healthy not to fall into a rut and always be fresh! With regards to my DJing career I reduced my gig diary to a minimum as I am focusing most of my energies on my IT company. I ‘m only hosting G7 Fridays at Gianpula for Summer.

Clayton J has a passion and flair for music and its presentation. It all started way back in late 2001 on a community radio station in Kappara (DJs Radio 95.6fm), and since then he never looked back. Clayton joined XFM 100.2 in 2003 and a year after joined Bay 89.7.

Radio Broadcasting has been a platform for Clayton to gain confidence and mould his personality, making him sound unique on air. Once on the radio, it was a natural shift for Clayton to get involved in the local clubbing scene wherein he gigs regularly in all the top spots around the Maltese Islands – namely Gianpula, La Grotta, Tattingers, Sky club etc. He has also been featured alongside foreign acts such as Steve Edwards, Inna, Kenno, Bastian Laval, Shena, Emma Hewitt, Yves La Rock, Prezioso, Gigi D’Agostino, Vika Jigulina, Eiffel 65 and Erick E. After affirming himself on radio and in clubbing the next natural step was to host a television show. This came along in Summer 2008 when he launched his very own project called Fresh & Funky TV (Malta).

Do you wear boxers or briefs? Why such preference?

Definitely boxers.

What’s a hobby you spend money on?

Expensive restaurants! I love eating out – moreover, creative dishes.

What would you never buy?

Unnecessary stupid things – mostly fashion related.

Describe your best holiday destination so far?

USA – New York and Las Vegas – it feels like you’re in a totally different world! (although it does feel all hyped up and materialistic)

Are you a good cook? If yes, what is it that you make really well?

Well, I can’t consider myself to be a good cook, but I do manage to cook an average plate of pasta! Then it’s expert level at noodles, 5 minute soups etc. :)

What do you prefer:- women or cars? And why?

Women in cars hehe – No, seriously it has to be women for sure! But with some disclaimers – I don’t like girls who are all looks, but no brains! I prefer career-oriented, ambitious women.
