Having larger curves definitely doesn’t mean you have to wear granny’s clothes. We have to admit that it takes more time and effort to look fashionable when you are a big size, but that doesn’t mean you can’t. With some tips and tricks I will help you achieve that.
First of all you need to study your body well. If you have big hips but a small waist, make sure you give all the deserved attention to the waist and try to camouflage your hips with a long cardigan or an A line Skirt. If you are heavier from your upper body but have slimmer legs I suggest you cover up your arms, especially if the skin is flabby, but accentuate your breasts and legs by wearing a short skirt and a colourful pair of tights. And don’t be afraid to show off your cleavage!
On the other hand if you are heavy busted please avoid wide belts exactly under your breasts! Instead use a belt around the waist to create the illusion of a slimmer waistline.
Accessories – never forget to accessorize your outfit, it will give you the right edge and help you achieve a more fashionable look.
Shoes – Flats are more comfortable, that’s an understatement – but to look taller and slimmer you will need the heels! Try for wider heels if the pencil ones are uncomfortable or maybe wedges.
Support underpants – they work wonders and help keep the extra fat hidden.
Above is an example of two different outfits and with their pros and cons.
The belt accentuates the waist
The flowing skirt flatters her body and hides the hips
The peep toes create the illusion of longer and slimmer legs.
The fashionable handbag compliments the outfit and gives it that touch of class.
The sequin skirt gives a lot of attention on the widest part of her body – the hips
The strap on the ankles creates the illusion of a smaller ankle and bigger calf.
I am also not happy with the shirt, that bald white colour makes her look bigger then she really is.
