Benefits of Exercise – it’s not only a New Year’s resolution but it should be a way of life.

One of the most common resolutions at the beginning of a new year would be to loose weight or else start doing more excercise.  But how good is excersise for you? Do you suffer from lack of sleep, back pains or a low energy drive? Do you want to loose weight or maybe live longer? Find out below how exercise can improve your life.

Exercise combats health conditions and diseases. Exercise means a healthier heart because it reduces several cardiovascular risks, including high blood pressure. Unfortunately, if you don’t exercise you dramatically increase your risk of dying from a heart attack.

Exercise as you age keeps you strong, mobile and less dependent on others.  All exercise helps strengthen bones and muscles to some degree and improves balance, which is usually a cause to many minor accidents which might leave you immobile.

Exercise helps you control your weight. It can help prevent excess weight gain and also help you loose weight. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. Regular exercise can help you achieve and maintain an ideal weight, which is not only important in managing many health conditions, but it may also make you feel happier about your appearance.

Exercise improves mood and boosts energy.  Being physically active can encourage good mental health and help you to manage stress, anxiety and even depression.  Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals. When you exercise regularly, you can boost your confidence because you will be delivering oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently, and most importantly feel better.

Exercise promotes better sleep. Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and deepen your sleep.  Make sure not to exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be too energized to fall asleep then.

Exercise helps your sex life. Regular physical activity can leave you feeling energized and looking better, which may have a positive effect on your sex life. But there’s more to it than that. Regular physical activity can lead to enhanced arousal for women.

As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.  Remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have any health concerns. Be sure that with physical activity you will feel better, gain health benefits and have fun!
