The MADC returns with another outstanding production, this time directed by Chiara Hyzler.

The MADC’s production of Jay Presson Allen’s adaptation of Muriel Spark’s The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie will star Julia Calvert in the title role, Ninette Micallef, Katherine Brown, Michael Mangion, Stefan Farrugia, Jonathan Dunn, Jasmine Farrugia, Taryn Mamo Cefai, Sandie von Brockdorff and Kyra Lautier.

Jean Brodie is an eccentric, egocentric, and charismatic teacher in an all-girls school in Edinburgh. It’s the 1930’s, and Miss Brodie believes she has entered her prime. This perception influences her teaching, which becomes all the more idiosyncratic and personal. She ignores the standard curriculum and teaches her students about art, culture, and politics in line with her own proclivities. She’s chosen her set of students known as The Brodie Set, who she manipulates and brainwashes into following all her ideologies instead of those of the school. The play also follows the journey of her sensual love life and the serious consequences of her actions this has on her Set.

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie will be performed at Blue Box @ MSpace on the 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th October at 8pm. Tickets at priced at €15 and €20, and can be purchased here.
