The artists of the Crown of Russian Ballet of Moscow, in collaboration with soloists from the Bolshoi Theatre and a team of talented young dancers will be presenting The Nutcracker on the 10th January at 4pm at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.

On a sparkling Christmas Eve in a frost-dusted Edwardian London, Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker doll discover a magical world where she battles with the Mouse King and meets a handsome stranger. As the air grows colder, Clara and her valiant Nutcracker take a hot air balloon ride across London to the glistening Land of Snow where her adventure really begins.

The Great Russian Nutcracker Ballet is a part of the Russian Christmas Festival, which will be held in Malta between the 6th and 17th January 2016. It is organised by the Russian-Maltese Cultural Association in collaboration with other Russian diaspora organisations, and is also dedicated to the celebration of the Russian Orthodox Christmas.

The festival will include a series of cultural and art events, including Russian traditional folk art exhibitions and Russian fashion shows, a traditional Christmas tree party for children, a painting contest entitled Orthodox Christmas By My Eyes, a Russian Orthodox celebration Mass, a Russian Christmas Season concert and other seasonal activities.

The duration of the performance is 2 hours and is classified as 5 years and over. The show is produced by the European Centre for Culture & Arts.

Tickets can be purchased from the MCC website.
