TCHAIKOVSKY GALA by The Royal Moscow Ballet in Malta!
The year 2015 marks the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. For one and a half centuries, his music has attracted great interest amongst all generations and people all over the world and it continues to mesmerise to this day. His three ballets Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker are true pearls of the world’s ballet treasures and the most popular repertoire of the many international ballet theatres.
The Royal Moscow Ballet’s Company ‘The Crown of Russian Ballet’ was founded in 1997 and consists of the best Russian Choreography school’s graduates. They have successfully toured in Russia and around the world, including Europe, North and South Africa, Asia, India, China, the Far East, and North and South America, among other countries.
Artistic Director Anatoliy Emelianov and Anna Alexidze prepared a special programme of classical ballet for Maltese and Gozitan families which will take place during two nights at the Mediterranean Conference Centre during the month of May. The Tchaikovsky Ballet Gala will take place on 15th May, which will include repertoire Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliette and Manfred.
The performance on 17th May 2015 will be dedicated to another Russian composer, Sergey Prokofiev and will feature a full spectacle-ballet Cinderella at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta. For more information, kindly visit www.mcc.com.mt
