Pride 2014 – Family: Where Love Matters Most

The 2014 Pride March is organized by the Malta Gay Rights Movement (MGRM) and will be held on July 11 in St George’s Square, Valletta.

This year’s chosen theme, Family: Where Love Matters Most, was chosen as the LGBTI community celebrates the passing of the Civil Unions Act and the legal recognition it grants to same-sex couples and their families.

Pride is a symbolic manifestation which is held in many different cities around the world and aims to increase the visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons. It is both a celebration of diversity as well as a call for recognition and respect for the dignity and rights of all.

This year’s Pride Week is being organized jointly by MGRM, aditus, Drachma, and We Are and also enjoys the support of the Ministry for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties.
