MODERN MUSIC DAYS AT THE MANOEL
13 percussionists will get together to perform IONISATION by Edgard Varèse on the 27th October at 8pm at the Manoel Theatre.
IONISATION was written between 1929 and 1931, and is among the first concert hall compositions ever composed for percussion ensemble.
Produced by the Malta Association for Contemporary Music, in collaboration with Teatru Manoel as part of the Valletta 2018 Cultural Programme in the run up to the European Capital of Culture year, this eclectic concert features some of the most unique 20th century works ever composed for percussion with works by John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Frank Zappa.
This concert features the Ars Ludi ensemble from Italy alongside local other percussionists.
Tickets are €10 and can be purchased from the Manoel Theatre website.
