Malta Fashion Week 2014 – New Designers Fashion Show
Saturday night will see the launch of 12 upcoming designers to hit the fashion scene in Malta. The fashion show will be featuring the brands Celeste, Churpina, Edith, Fransina, Gremar, Lukka, Marco Parascandolo, Marta Gomez Vidal, Mosca, Poshet!, Rosemarie Abela and Taia.
Celeste is the creation of 21 year-old student, Martina Spiteri who has worked in the fashion design since 2009. Her designs are classic, timeless but also contemporary for the modern woman. Charlene Joan Sant, designer and seamstress, will be launching Churpina, a brand both whimsical and customizable.
Edith is the brand name created by designer Natalie Bronfman. The line is intended for the woman who loves a good cut and clean line in her style. Fransina is the self-titled brand by Manzoni Fashion House student Fransina, who will be launching a collection of handbags and accessories.
Gremar, who first appeared on the scene during the Malta Fashion Week 2012 will be launching her self-titled brand during this year’s event, focusing on the originality of her designs. Lukka, a hair styling and fashion design graduate, will be launching his brand which is inspired from London’s vintage street style.
Marco Parascandolo, an MCAST student, who moved to London in 2012, will be launching his menswear line. Marta Gomez Vidal, who has worked in the wardrobe department at various TV shows in Spain will be showcasing her leather bags creations.
Mosca is the brand by Aga Rusajczyk, a Polish freelance stylist and make-up artist, located in Malta. Poshet! is the hand bag line created by Ana Nogueira, Portuguese designer who has been living in Malta for the past 10 years.
Rosemarie Abela, graduated from Polimida International Fashion Institute in 2013. She will be focusing on wedding gown design for this year’s fashion show. Taia is the collaboration between Alicia Schembri-Roslichenko and Mandy Farrugia. Their Autumn 2014 collection will feature eight outfits, including print flowers of their own creation.
