Packed with information clips, real life success stories, features, entertainment and lots of surprises, this twelve-hour fundraising TV telethon will be broadcast on all national television stations on the 30th October in aid of Inspire, with the aim of raising awareness about disability and raise funds for Inspire’s programmes and services. It will be officially launched at noon by Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties Dr Helena Dalli.
The broadcast will start at noon and will continue for twelve hours until midnight. It will be transmitted on TVM2, NET TV, ONE TV, F Living and Xejk, and will at times go live from Inspire’s Razzett tal-Ħbiberija premises in Marsascala, where an open day with free access to all will be held. The public is invited to enjoy a kids’ area, a variety of stalls and charity shops, food and drinks, Zumba sessions, live entertainment, and free access to the newly refurbished fitness centre and indoor pool.
The Travellers, who lately joined forces with The Inspire Foundation to help promote a message of compassion and empathy through their popular song Sempliċita’, will also be present. The Gozitan band members said they are “thankful towards Inspire for the experience they were given.” The band, together with Inspire, created a unique music video for Semplicita’, which will be featured during the fundraising marathon.
The music video is entirely shot at Inspire’s premises, and band members are seen walking through the building, meeting and interacting with the clients as they make use of the many therapeutic and leisure services offered by the foundation.
Other personalities, celebrities and entertainers will be joining The Travellers in their quest to help Inspire raise funds. Ryan Borg, known for his popular show Sibtek, will be presenting the marathon with the help of other presenters throughout the 12-hour period.
SMS donation numbers are already open, and people can show their support by sending a donation to 5061 8926 (€6.99) or 5061 9215 (€11.65). Landline calls can be made to 5170 2014 to donate €15.
