On the 23rd December, Connections shall be featuring Żabbar’s Notre Dame Choir, which currently consists of around 25 members, under the direction of Mro Charles Vincenti.

They will be accompanied by a modest orchestra hosting around 30 voluntary musicians which, under the baton of Mro Lindsey Mallia, will be performing a variety of Christmas carols and other repertoire. In addition to the choir, there will also be established soloists including Marita Bezzina, Connie Frances Zerafa, Graziella Debattista Briffa and tenor Charles Vincenti, who will be performing works by famous composers such as Morricone, Adam, Bach and Handel.

There will also be a crafts fair starting at 6pm, hosting a variety of handmade craft items for sale. The show will then start at 7.30pm at St Agatha Auditorium in Rabat. Early bird tickets booked from ticketline.com.mt are at €10, or can be purchased at the door at €12. Entrance is free for under 16s. Alternatively, make your booking on 79447877.

Through this event, we will be supporting a project which helps street kids in the Philippines. For the past 12 years, Fr Joe Cremona has been doing missionary work in the community of a very remote village called Bataan, where street kids lack very basic opportunities. Fr Joe supports these kids through education and food programmes. He also teaches them music, and nowadays, more than 90 kids attend the project and 60 of them perform in an orchestra.
