THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE AT THE EDEN CINEMAS

Eden Cinemas is proud to present the Royal Opera House‘s new upcoming season for 2016/2017, a slate that promises to impress with its elite selection of screenings.

Broadcast live directly from the Royal Opera House, viewers will be able to experience pre-show and behind-the-scenes footage from London. They’ll also be given an insight on the mise-en-scène of the productions from the perspective of the directors, cast and crew.

This year’s programme offers a variety of the top ballets and operas performed at The Royal Opera House that will commence on the 26th September with Bellini’s operatic masterpiece Norma, featuring the world-renowned tenor Joseph Calleja.

Among the opera highlights are the anticipated new productions of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte and Verdi’s Otello and the Royal Ballet will be providing a stellar repertoire with productions such as The Sleeping Beauty to Petipa’s music, Frederick Ashton’s The Dream and Balanchine’s breathtaking Jewels.

Ticket prices have been reduced to €18 per adult and include a complimentary glass of wine and complimentary parking at the Eden Car Park. Tickets for children and youths aged 16 and under are €10. Encore shows have also been introduced at €15 (including free parking), allowing audiences to view the world’s best performers in the top operas and ballets from the comfort of the Eden’s state of the art cinema complex.

Antonio Pappano conducts a wonderful cast led by Sonya Yoncheva, Joseph Calleja and Sonia Ganassi in a new production of Bellini’s mastrpiece, directed by Alex Olle.

Cosi Fan Tutte – Mozart

Semyon Bychkov conducts a cast of up-and-coming talent, including American soprano Corinne Winters in a new production of Mozart and Da Ponte’s opera on the nature of love.

Anastasia – Macmillan

Kenneth MacMillan’s full-length ballet is a compelling exploration of identity in the turbulent wake of the Russian Revolution.

Les Contes d’Hoffman – Offenbach

Vittorio Grigolo and Leonardo Capalbo share the title role alongside an excellent cast including Thomas Hampson, Sonya Yoncheva, Christine Rice and Sofia Fomina in Offenbach’s operatic drama.

The Nutcracker – Wright

The Royal Ballet celebrates Peter Wright’s 90th birthday with the renowned production of this classic, danced to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score.
