Another highly successful production for Staġun Teatru Malti came to a close on the 22nd May with Malcolm Galea’s Marti Martek Martek Marti at the Manoel Theatre.

The cast celebrated at Taproom in Old Theatre Street after an almost sold-out run over two weekends. Carlos Farrugia declared the cast’s “time-out” after their final night, relieving the actors and their director-scriptwriter after six weeks of intensive rehearsals at the Manoel Theatre studios.

The comedy written by Malcolm Galea told the story of a group of people who congregate for a swinger’s weekend in Gozo, where hilarity and a series of hard truths unfolded. The cast comprised of Kris Spiteri, Nicola Abela Garrett, Carlos Farrugia, Sarah Camilleri, Davide Tucci, Larissa Bonaci, Sean Briffa and Jovana Kuzeljevic, who’ve so far received very positive feedback from both the audience and critics.

This is Staġun Teatru Malti‘s 12th production in eight years, following a triumphant one-off performance of Ħabbilni Ħa Nirbaħ at Teatru Aurora in Rabat, Gozo. Staġun Teatru Malti has so far produced an array of fresh and original Maltese texts with Malta-centric themes.
