DIY HALLOWEEN – FLOATING GHOST

You’ve seen them time and time again in Scooby Doo and one even showed up covered in chains in Scrooge’s bedroom.

No Halloween is complete without the presence of a floating ghost… who happens to be some random dude covered in a white sheet with holes.

Our version doesn’t require a silly man under bed linen. It does however, require the following items:

You will need:

  • 1 L. empty plastic bottle
  • Starch
  • Cheesecloth
  • Old towel
  • Black paper
  • Styrofoam Ball
  • Hair Dryer
  • Wire
  • Glue

Step #1: Cover your working area with the old towel.

Step #2: Dig the Styrofoam ball into the neck of the bottle.

Step #3: Take a piece of sturdy but pliable wire and wrap it around the neck of the bottle with its ends sticking out. These will act as arms.

Step #4: Cover your figure with the cheesecloth, strategically positioning it for detail. Spray it down with a good layer of starch until stiff.

Step #5: Take a hair dryer and speed up the drying process.

Step #6: Once it’s solidified, slowly remove the bottle, wire and Styrofoam figure.

Step #7: Cut out round black eyes from the black paper and glue them on.
