What’s your favourite music genre?

I listen to pop for everyday activities and classical music, because it’s the genre I love singing.

What drew you towards a career in modelling?

Not many people may know this, but when I was 14, I was a bit of a tomboy until I met a certain Marisa Grima, who introduced me to the world of modelling. The rest is history.

Who are your inspirations in the fashion industry and how do they inspire you?

Locally, I admire Marco Parascandolo. He’s very ambitious and creative, and he designs a lot of stylish clothes that are being sold both here and abroad. Internationally, I’m a big fan of Gisele Bündchen. Her style and persona on the catwalk are phenomenal.

How would you describe your overall style?

I don’t have a specific style per se. However, on a night out I like to keep it classic and glamorous. On a daily basis, I like to stick to an urban style, and I like adding that extra oomph to my outfit with accessories like a throw-back cap.

What would you consider to be the basics in a fashionista’s wardrobe?

Loads of whites and blacks, be it shirts, t-shirts or tops. These are neutral and can be easily transformed into something stylish and fashionable with the right accessories.

A nice pair of jeans for anyone on the go who still wants to keep it simple but fashionable – you can never really go wrong with denim. With regards to jewellery, I would go for some nice chunky statement pieces.

Have some dresses, particularly the must-have little black dress. There’s something about a dress that is so effortless because it’s just one piece, unlike the headache of the ‘which top should I match with this pair of trousers/skirt?’ dilemma. Yet, it gives the impression that you’ve gone through all the effort to assemble an outfit, since it looks equally complete.

Which are your 3 make up bag essentials you don’t leave the house without?

My three make up essentials are foundation, blusher and mascara.

If a lack of fashion sense was a crime, which would you consider to be the biggest criminal offence?

My gosh, there are so many! I guess the two that drive me most up the wall are socks and sandals and transparent leggings worn as trousers. You know, the kind where you can even see the person’s underwear pattern without wanting to.

What activities do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I like singing, dancing and cooking. I particularly like baking. Most importantly!, I’m a full time mum to my sweetheart Jakov.

Describe yourself in a nutshell.

I’m a loud and very charismatic person, the type of individual you’d definitely notice if I’ve walked into a room. I’m a very creative person who values other people’s advice. Having said this, I always go with my gut feeling. So I could ask as many as a dozen people’s opinions, but I ultimately choose what I feel is best in my heart of hearts. I’m also very direct. I’m not one to mince my words, which is perhaps not always the best thing, but I guess it’s better to be honest than fake, even if it might get you into trouble! Above all, I’m a person who has morals and values. Religion is a very important aspect in my life.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

Plain and simply? Shopping with a limitless credit card. It’s every girl’s dream, I think.

Do you have any fears or phobias?

I am absolutely terrified of bees. I can’t stand them! As for fears, the main thing that I’m scared of is losing the people close to my heart, like my son and my family. I was brought up in a large yet tight-knit family, so that feeling of closeness and togetherness has made me cherish familial relationships even more.

What upsets you the most?

Firstly, judgemental people who choose to form their own verdict about a person’s character without getting to know them. I also don’t like impolite people who wouldn’t know their Ps and Qs if they smacked them silly upside the head! I also dislike people who talk a lot but do very little, because I believe actions speak louder than words.

Do you have days where you just need some alone time, cut off from the world?

Yes, there are obviously times when I need those days,. I think everyone does, but they are few and far between, because I’m very sociable and I like to be in other people’s company. However, I consider alone-time to be equally important, because it allows me to clear my head and contemplate on life in general.

What qualities do you look for in a friend?

Loyalty, honesty and trustworthiness are all very important to me. I also believe a true friend should be reliable and a good listener. Of course, I think a friend should be someone who has a sense of humour and is always up for a laugh!

How about an ideal partner?

This is a bit trickier! Well, obviously all the qualities I look for in a friend apply to my ideal partner, because ultimately he should also be a friend. However, I also like someone who’s romantic and lovable. I think he should be someone who likes to pamper his girlfriend and give her lots of attention. Another thing I look for in a partner is style. I tend to go for the metrosexual type of guy – someone who is well-groomed and keeps up-to-date with the latest trends.
